Existence
I feel as if, as I read the takes of others, that many find existentialism to be a downtrodden reality, a world with less meaning than if everything was imbued with meaning from the jump. My take is to the contrary. Isn't the Earth around us more varied, more beautiful, more interesting if we have the power ourselves to decide what we care about, what influences us?
Just as when reading a book, the interpretation meant by the author is not always what the reader dredges out through the reading of such a piece, the world doesn't restrain you from deciphering what you want from it. Truly there is nothing holding you to your own path but yourself, nothing holding you to your beliefs but yourself. If you want to change, do it.Of course many will debate this point. But how? What logic would you use?
The universe is what it is. The stars shine ages away in the sky. Planets rotate, revolve. Wind blows. Trees grow. Birds chirp. People walk. Rocks tumble. Water flows.
But what do you desire to do with that water? What possibilities do you seek in it? What existence do you believe yourself to live?
And that is existentialism. A set border of rules with a sandbox of opportunities to take advantage of within them. How is that a disheartening outlook on life?
